Welcome to our Australian Ninja Warrior episode 7 recap! The second semi-final!
Australian Ninja Warrior Season 1 Episode 7 Obstacles
The classic staple of Ninja Warrior obstacle courses – the Quintuple Steps.
The 2nd obstacle is always a jolting obstacle. Tonight is the Log Grip
There is always a balance obstacle third, and it’s the Spinning Log
If you get up to here, you’re doing better than 60% of the competition… and so next is the Jump Hang
The fifth obstacle is nearly always a tough upper body obstacle. Here is the Bungee Road.
The Warped Wall is next… but it’s not over yet. The Semi Final course has 3 more obstacles.
After making it up the Warped Wall, it’s onto the Flying Shelf.
Pole Grasper is the 2nd last obstacle before the end.
Get to this point, and there’s only one thing standing in your way to the buzzer. It’s the Chimney Climb.
Only the Top 7 of this Semi-Final will make it through to the Grand Final. Even if a ninja hits the buzzer… if 7 others make it there faster, then they’re out. Harsh, but fair.

Nathaniel Irving was the first to take on the 2nd Semi-Final show…. and was taken out by the biggest jerk of them all, the Spinning Log.
Semi-final Run: Nathaniel Irving
Scott Evennett the beast was next. His heat was epic, keeping us all on the edge of our seats by smashing the Warped Wall on his 3rd and final attempt. He really didn’t struggle with anything, even the wall. He took a massive fall on the dismount on the last swinging shelf . What a tank!

Georgia Bonora was heaps strong. She took a hit on the Spinning Log but wasn’t phased… man, she’s hilarious. She took massive flight on the tramp to the Cargo Net, but only just got her hands to the net but couldn’t ride the whip. Massive effort.
Semi-final Run: Georgia Bonora
Ben Cossey has to be one of the funniest dudes around. He literally has no issues with the course. So controlled. So many faces. He was looking fatigued by the Pole Grasper and struggled with the Chimney Climb, but he just wouldn’t quit… he struggled the whole way up there but hit that buzzer like a champ.
Quick Run from the Break
William Baron-Croston totally finished the whole course in 4:06. Legend!

Kadeem Aarons, the shortest male competitor at 5’2″ got caught up on the Log Grip. He missed the first dismount… and struggled and climbed around… but there’s pretty much no way to kick off the Log to make it to the platform.
Dan Mason the barefoot ninja, is strong, energetic, smart and supremely capable. His flight up the Warped Wall was just amazing. He flew up there. We all had our hearts in our mouths on the dismount of the Pole Grasper, he slid all the way down to nearly touching the water… but he climbed back up and made the dismount. He finished the course at 5:18.
Quick Runs from the Break
Fred Dorrington smashed the course in such a quick time…. 4:35 seconds. Epic. The dude is strong!
Unseen semi-final run: Fred Dorrington
Cody Thomas was unlucky on the Log Grip.. he made but somehow overbalanced and fell backwards into the water.
Glen West made it to the cargo net on the Jump Hang, when his foot slipped off into the water. Really tough way to go out.

Emmett Swindells has the best of all beards. He came off the Spinning Log and absolutely fought he way through it. We were in the audience just behind him, screaming at him to claw his way through it. It was amazing to watch. The entire audience was hoarse afterwards. I still can’t believe he made it. It was incredible. Best comeback ever! He got so close to the water on the cargo net but still got through. He unfortunately came off on the bungee cords. Huge!
Semi-final Run: Emmett Swindells
Quick Runs from the Break
Rob Sandover was killing it, until he started to struggle on the Pole Grasper… he got lower and lower and just as he went to dismount his foot missed and touched the water. Bummer.

Andrea Hah was spectacular! She’s Australia’s best female rock climber but she’s really, really fast and has a heap of skills. So quick! The whole crowd was on their feet. It really was hugely exciting to be there at this moment! AND THEN SHE GOT UP THE WARPED WALL IN HER FIRST ATTEMPT LIKE IT WAS NOTHING! Everyone went berserk! She flew through the Flying Steps. Her smile was incredibly infectious on the Pole Grasper, she was so happy, but somehow slightly touched the water on the final dismount on the last pole. Her time was good, she might have made it into the finals… ahhh.
Performance of the Night: Andrea Hah
