Welcome to our Australian Ninja Warrior episode 6 recap! The first semi-final! I can’t believe we have to wait 5 days to see what happens next!
Australian Ninja Warrior Season 1 Episode 6 Obstacles
The classic staple of Ninja Warrior obstacle courses – the Quintuple Steps.
The 2nd obstacle is always a jolting obstacle. Tonight is the Log Grip
There is always a balance obstacle third, and it’s the Spinning Log
If you get up to here, you’re doing better than 60% of the competition… and so next is the Jump Hang
The fifth obstacle is nearly always a tough upper body obstacle. Here is the Tire Swing
The Warped Wall is next… but it’s not over yet. The Semi Final course has 3 more obstacles.
After making it up the Warped Wall, it’s onto the Ring Jump.
Pole Grasper is the 2nd last obstacle before the end.
Get to this point, and there’s only one thing standing in your way to the buzzer. It’s the Chimney Climb.
Only the Top 7 of this Semi-Final will make it through to the Grand Final. Even if they make it to the end… if 7 others make it there faster, then they’re out. Harsh, but fair.

Travers Jamieson the tour guide is such a lad. He’s really strong and quick, but he had a massive fall on the Spinning Log. It was spectacular!

Matthew Timms is the Timber Ninja. An amazing save on the Log Grip and then a huge stack on the Spining Log, but he was still alive. Amazing. He made it to the last Tyre and had a good dismount, but his leg hit the water as he landed. Damn.

Luke Ha is so skilled. He really had no issues at all on any of the obstacles… until… the last moment in the Tyre Swing… his momentum was slightly off on the landing and he was in the water before anyone knew what was happeninng. He looked so strong!
Quick Run from the Break
Cobi Head had a really, really quick run, but just came straight off the last Tyre. He was so smooth to that point.
Lee Campbell grabbed the first tyre really awkwardly and when he couldn’t quite grab the second got swung backwards into the water.
Jaymes Wright went down on the last Tyre too.

Dave Ravi did so well. Similar to the heats, he just managed to get through most of the obstacles… but he kept going through sheer will. He looked wreaked by the time he got up to the Warped Wall… but still got up there. He struggled through, but man, he was hitting the Rings with strength.. but after getting to the last ring, he just couldn’t hold on. His brother Mark is easily one of the most helpful people to have run alongside you.

Quick Runs from the Break
Neal Holmes took on everything so easily.. until the Ring Jump, he was up there forever and he touched the platform but was well in the water by that point.
William Laister looked incredibly strong throughout his entire run. He never looked tired or nervous. Made it through every obstacle with class and made it to the top in just over 4 minutes. Freakin’ legend! First completion of the night.

Australian Ninja Warrior Season 1 Episode 6 Ninjas – Leaderboard
30 ninjas actually ran in this episode, but they only show 12-15 people… so you’ll see some names on the leaderboard that you didn’t see running. Only the Top 7 competitors made it into the Grand Final.
